Stockholm, Sweden (September 20th, 2010)
On September 19th the Bluebeam Rally Team competed at Byggconstruct-sprinten in Almunge. It was just the second race for the team’s new Opel Corsa, which had undergone repairs to the power steering system the night before. Bluebeam Rally Team driver Peter Backstrom took the wheel and Kenneth Lodeklint joined him as his co-driver. A sprint-style race, the team had three attempts to clock the fastest time possible.
First Attempt – A newly replaced host to the power steering system worked perfectly. The car was much easier to handle than in the previous day’s rally at Eskilstuna.
Second Attempt – Despite the improved power steering, there were still issues with the brakes. Some adjustments were made between attempt two and three.
Third Attempt – Finally the Opel Corsa shows what she’s made of! Not only did the team improve their speed, they finished about three seconds after rally driver Anders Eriksson, who was driving a similar car.
After the race, Bluebeam Rally Team Driver Kenneth Lodeklint said, “I’m happy that we have the Opel Corsa running, and I hope that we pick up speed in future races.” Go get ‘em, Kenneth!
