Stockholm, Sweden (September 19th, 2010)
Yesterday was the day as the Bluebeam Rally Team’s new pride and joy, the Opel Corsa, raced around the forests of Eskilstuna. The day started with lots of fanfare at the main square in Eskilstuna. This was the last race before the Mekonomen Rally Cup and the rally had gathered a large number of participants.
Bluebeam Rally Team driver Kenneth Lodeklint drove the Corsa along with co-driver Jonas Wennberg. With a grueling, six-stage schedule, the day’s weather at first did not look promising. But despite Mother Nature, it was a truly successful rally day.
After two stages, it was time for service. Kenneth complained that the servo steering did not work properly. Upon further inspection the team determined that a hose was missing, and it was replaced that evening.
Reaching the finish line, the team was very happy that the car worked so well even though it was the maiden voyage. Kenneth and Jonas finished at 27 minutes and 8.5 seconds.
