Bluebeam® Rally Team Speeds Past Obstacles for a Third Place Finish

Stockholm, Sweden (March 14th, 2010)

The LBC-Ruschen Rally, held yesterday in Lima, Sweden, was a challenging race full of ups and downs. The day started off with cold showers, thanks to a broken water heater at their hotel (don’t worry, they won’t be staying there again).

After that brisk start things starting heating up. While lining up for the race’s start, three-time Swedish Touring Car Champion Richard Goransson stopped by to admire the Bluebeam Rally Car! Goransson was rallying with his Co-Driver, two-time Junior World Rally Champion PG Andersson. The team was thrilled to impress these racing legends with their slick Bluebeam Rally Car.

Charged up from this encounter, the team mentally prepared for the race. Driver Björn Wullf and Co-Driver Jonas Wennberg reviewed the map of the four stage track. The race covered 95 kilometers, with 69 of those kilometers falling into the final two stages! Once realizing the kilometer distribution in the stages, Wulff and Wennberg knew they were in for a wild ride.

Here’s a run-down of how the Bluebeam Rally Team fared:

SS 1:The Bluebeam Rally Team got off to a really careful start. Although they were quite cautious, they were proud to beat a fellow rally driver who was expected to come in second overall.

SS 2:The team gained speed racing in high gears. 75% of the stage was in fifth gear with a steady speed of about 100 MPH down the race’s icy narrow, roads. This stage was the Bluebeam Rally Team’s best performance of the day.

SS 3 and SS 4:These long legs were tough on the Bluebeam Rally Team. Driver Björn Wulff had never raced these tracks before, so it was extremely challenging to stay focused and energized on this 69 kilometer stretch. Adding to this difficulty, the rally car’s engine bracket was damaged by these stages, making it impossible to use first and second gear.

In the end, the Bluebeam Rally Team pulled through these grueling stages at incredible speeds. They finished the day taking home Third Place in their division!
